Spencer does Marvel...Dallas style!

He is the stuff I promised in the last post. I painted this for a local grocery store. Here is a couple of pictures...

Plus for your viewing pleasure, I place a video in REAL TIME of me painting this particular sign. It's pretty bad quality unfortunately...sorry

And since we're in a Marvel mood, I include another video that I had nothing to to with, but I think it's awesome!!!!

Booyakashaw!!!

Ok, here's this semester's notebook work so far...well except for the old sign there. For the three of you that still check this site still, there you go... oh, and by the way you all should listen to a band called the Avett Brothers...they are currently blowing my mind. Oh, and i just wanted to let you all know that something awesome is in the works right now. I would call it my 5th symphony of draws and will be posted here next week.

Woah, it's been way longer than I thought

So I guess it's been like 2 months since my last post, so here it is... I did these at work because it's boring! It's still unfinished and as of now, I have no idea if it will ever be, so i threw together a really quick color.

ooh ooh ooh, I know!

Had a good night tonight. Managed to get my homework done...5 days late, but just happy I don't have to take a zero. Just hooked my scanner up to the old compute! One reason why I haven't had so many updates. Really wish I could draw more though..anyway, ladies here's the hulk!

I don't have any art to post because I have been lame lately, but I do have this funny picture of Claire.

Man of Iron

Well, here it is, one of the only character drawings I have done with a background. The problem is, that when you get finished with the character which is the fun part, the background is just dressing and therefore, boring. Anyway, it sure does help a drawing...I will be coloring this sometime in the future, so pay attention!

invincible, yet...

This is Invincible, done with my tempera sign paints while I was being distracted from my real sign I was painting at the time...It's actually not finished in this picture(hence the oddly shaped leg) The colors ended up being pretty cool I think. In real life, lately I have been reading the book, Mildred Pierce, by James M. Cain. It's an old book, but it has been pretty cool so far. This author was famous for his books being turned into film noirs of the post ww2 era.

memorial day sign for maceys

This was several attempts to do something different in one sign and it might have ended up a little confusing. Oh well, anyway I actually brought out the spray paint for the highlights on the icons...that's a first on a banner.

The truth is out!

I hate when tabloids print rubbish about me and the wife. Well, I guess it's the price to pay for fame. Just saw this at the grocery store today.

Thor Against the Machine

Yes, it's true, I actually drew again! First Thor ever...well from me anyway. Can't wait to color it...but I am gonna have to unfortunately. I am a little busy trying to resurrect all my F's in school right now...

busy drawin' for the man...

Runaways

So um this is my shot at the runaways from Marvel Comics. If you don't read this comic, you should. It's a super hero comic without all the super-hero nonsense. Anyhoo, I wasn't completely satisfied with this piece. It started out really good, but I end up getting impatient and start to suck!
Now here is my drawing minus the parts that make you barf!

SNIKKT!

Sketch I did while in my logic class this week. Cute Wolverine with a touch of sunecide.

Brand New Day

I was just using this blog as a means of displaying my "so-called" art, but if I want to just write on here the way other bloggers do I believe it's my right under article 245a^2 of the Utah coalition of bloggers...

First, as an order of business, I am going to retire my two other blogs as it is too much of a chore for people to check updates on three blogs. So, henceforth any and all art flowing from the hand of "Sobosterock," will now be aggregated into one spot. I will leave
"SignJoy," and "Spiral Bound," up so I do not have to re-post everything, but for those of you who care, just check here.

This is a new year and a new beginning for "Inquisitor of Justice." I plan on inquiring more concerning all that is just, and re-committing myself to posting. Part of what has slowed my posts down is not actually having anything to post. So as a remedy I will post randomness like this.

Now that that's out of the way, lets get down to the nitty gritty. So Captain America as returned; no big surprise. It's no longer Steve Rogers, but his former sidekick Bucky Barnes. He has donned
an updated-for-the-nineties shiny metallic version of the Captain America uniform designed by none other than Alex Ross...the artist with a posse. (Serious, check out his booth at any Comic Convention) I am fine with Bucky taking his spot, it's just the ugliest costume of all time and makes me not want to read it at all even though it is written by my buddy Ed Brubaker (We email...i don't know if you guys know that). I am kind of fed up with Marvel lately anyway because of the whole, "One More Day," garbage that I reserve the right to rip apart at a later date. By the way, I am pretty sure that Editor-in-Chief Joe Quesada was listening to the Diamond Rio song, "One more day," and decided to make a comics event out of it.

TIKI

This is a portion of a sign I just painted, (I will post the whole sign on SignJoy later) I thought it was teh awesome, so here it is. Below is my first attempt that I did at about 5AM. I decided it was time to quit and go to bed...He looks like a redneck tiki...hmm. I'll take any comic scripts anyone wants to pass me about a redneck tiki!

excuses...

Well, it's interesting to me that I have just finished with this stretch of freedom called Christmas break...or "winter" break to those of you who need to be offended by that sort of thing, and I have posted no art. I have actually not done any art at all. When I have any spare time at all, laziness slinks into my life until I become the poster boy for blahhh! so I will get on it soon hopefully. I have a "runaways" drawing I have been working on for a while that needs to get up here..so, yeah..
